Fall Cultural Competency

At least two student organization officers from the following must attend the cultural competency trainings provided by the ASUO Executive once throughout the school year, preferably during the fall term: President/Co-presidents/Directors/Co-directors and Vice President.

Consequences for not attending the Cultural Competency Trainings include freezing the student organization’s account until they have made up for not attending the training. The organizations account will be frozen by the SGES Assistant Director, Experiential Learning or other ASUO professional staff within two weeks of failing to attend the meeting. The same rules apply for missing the mandatory Programs Council Meeting.

Furthermore, failure to attend the cultural competency training may result in derecognition.

Party Registration Training

You're Invited: ASUO Party Registration Program Orientation

The ASUO invites you to join our Party Registration Program, designed to promote safe and responsible hosting while reducing noise and community disturbances in neighborhoods near the University of Oregon. By registering your party, you can receive a warning call instead of immediate police intervention if a noise complaint is filed, helping to reduce unnecessary police presence.

Why Register? The Party Registration Program offers students hosting social gatherings the opportunity to avoid fines and citations by receiving a 20-minute warning to voluntarily address complaints. Registration is free and available for off-campus addresses in the west and south university neighborhoods.

Eligibility:

  • Open to currently enrolled University of Oregon students, 18 years and older, living off campus.

  • Only residential addresses (excluding apartments and public spaces) are eligible.

  • Parties must be registered weekly, for Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays after 8:00 p.m.
